According to reports, the 24-year-old turned down interest from other clubs as he prioritised extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium. The new agreement is also expected to include improved personal terms.
Neither Manchester City nor Doku has officially confirmed the contract extension.
If finalised, the new deal would keep the Belgium international at the club until 2031 as City continue planning for the future.
