ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Financial technology firm Xpress Payment Solutions Limited has pledged to accelerate the deployment of secure, seamless transaction platforms to meet the demands of Nigeria’s fast-growing cashless economy.

The company, operating under the Central Bank of Nigeria’s premium Switching and Processing licence category, said its next phase of expansion will focus on developing smarter payment solutions aimed at reducing barriers for underserved businesses and individuals across the country.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Xpress Payment Solutions Limited, Wale Olayisade, disclosed this in a statement on Monday ahead of the firm’s anniversary.

The company’s commitment comes as it prepares to roll out a week-long programme of events themed ‘Xpress @10: A Decade of Innovation, A Future of Possibilities’, marking a decade since its entry into Nigeria’s payments sector in 2016.

He said, “Our 10-year milestone represents far more than a corporate anniversary; it is a celebration of innovation, partnerships, trust, and the transformative power of technology.

Reaching this point is a clear testament to the resilience of our team and the unwavering trust placed in us by millions of Nigerians who rely on our platforms daily.”

Over the past decade, Nigeria’s fintech sector has recorded significant growth, driven by regulatory support for cashless policies and increased mobile penetration.

Operating as a transaction switcher, payment solution service provider, and non-bank acquiring agent, Xpress Payments has positioned itself as a key player in supporting electronic collections and disbursements for both corporate and public sector operations.

Industry analysts say the next phase of digital financial services will require stronger security frameworks and smarter transaction routing to remain competitive amid evolving market conditions.

“As we celebrate Xpress @10, we are not just looking back at what we have achieved; we are actively doubling down on our mission to simplify and enable smarter payments. We seek a digitally empowered Nigeria where transactions are effortless, cost-effective, and where economic opportunities remain boundless for everyone,” Olayisade added.

The company also unveiled a series of community-focused activities and intellectual engagements, including a corporate social responsibility initiative targeting sustainable regional development, as well as a public lecture to address emerging challenges in financial inclusion and automated revenue collection.

The celebrations will culminate in a gala night in Lagos to honour partners, regulators, and technical teams who contributed to the platform’s 10-year journey.

“As Nigeria’s digital economy continues to expand, the payments industry will remain central to overall economic development. Our focus will stay sharply fixed on building robust, disruptive solutions that empower merchants, support government revenue initiatives, and improve access to formal financial services,” the statement added.
