ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday received a European Union delegation led by Gautier Mignot at his private residence in Ibadan.
The meeting focused on cooperation between Oyo State and the European Union in the areas of agricultural development, education, and efforts to combat gender-based violence. Also present was Leila Mathieu.
Other attendees included the governor’s adviser on agribusiness and international cooperation, Debo Akande, and his executive assistant on administration, Revd Idowu Ogedengbe.
Following the meeting, Makinde held a private session with Ambassador Mignot.

Speaking with journalists afterward, Mignot, who said it was his first visit to the state, disclosed that discussions largely centred on agricultural development and climate change as part of efforts to reinforce Oyo State’s status as one of Nigeria’s leading food-producing states.
He added, “We also discussed education, where we are partnering, and the fight against gender-based violence.
“Youths and women are our priorities in all of the projects I have highlighted, and we are focusing on them in particular.
“We are focusing on the value chain in the dairy sector, and we want to work in the cocoa sector because it has great potential.”
