LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Popular content creator MC Mbakara has expressed disappointment over a brief encounter with Nollywood star Jim Iyke, accusing some celebrities of acting distant despite the support they receive from fans.
The social media star, who boasts millions of followers across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, shared his frustration after running into Jim Iyke at a hotel in Port Harcourt.
According to Mbakara, he and his wife had just returned from a month-long trip to China when they spotted the actor.

The actor reportedly responded with a brisk handshake and asked how he was doing before quickly heading into an elevator.
While the interaction appeared cordial, Mbakara later revealed that he was disappointed by what he perceived as a lack of warmth from the movie star.
In a video posted online, the content creator questioned why Jim Iyke did not smile during the brief exchange.
“What would it have cost him to smile?” Mbakara asked while recounting the encounter.

He went on to claim that some celebrities behave as though they are above others, despite being supported by fans.
“Most celebrities feel like gods, and that behaviour is annoying,” he stated.
Although he admitted that he still admires Jim Iyke, Mbakara said he expected a friendlier interaction from someone he regarded highly.
The video quickly gained traction online, with social media users offering mixed reactions.
However, many commenters sided with Jim Iyke, arguing that the actor had been polite and may simply have been in a hurry.
Others accused Mbakara of turning ordinary celebrity encounters into content, pointing out that he has previously voiced similar complaints about comedian Bovi and even documented his unsuccessful attempt to meet football legend Samuel Eto’o during a trip to Cameroon.
Some users also noted that Jim Iyke appeared preoccupied at the time, while others questioned whether Mbakara himself had smiled during the encounter.
At press time, Jim Iyke has not publicly responded to Mbakara’s remarks.
