LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Chelsea legend says striker would “express himself and perform” at Stamford Bridge
Former Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly has told the club to target Darwin Núñez this summer. The Chelsea legend believes the Uruguay striker fits what the team needs up front.
Speaking about Chelsea’s striker search, Desailly said: “At Chelsea, I’m sure he would express himself and perform. They need a striker but I’m not sure exactly who it will be or where they will get him.”

Desailly added that Chelsea might have to look beyond the obvious names. “Unless they find one in Germany who we don’t know much about yet, but they have to match the profile of what Chelsea is looking for.”
Chelsea have been linked with several forwards in recent windows. Their need for a consistent goalscorer remains a big topic among fans and pundits. Núñez currently plays for Liverpool and is known for his pace, power, and pressing.
No official bid from Chelsea for Núñez has been reported. Liverpool have not said they will sell the 25-year-old. Desailly’s comments are his opinion as a former player, not a club statement.
