LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Veteran Nollywood actor Adewale Elesho Adeoye, popularly known as Baba Elesho, spoke about his family dynamics, explaining why he considers his wife the head of his household.
During a recent interview, the actor recounted an emotional experience involving his elderly mother and his wife.
According to Baba Elesho, his mother had battled an eye condition for several years and was living with one of his younger siblings during that period.
Although she was not staying with him, he said he remained committed to supporting and caring for her.
Things took a dramatic turn during one of his visits when he discovered that his mother was unhappy with her living conditions.
“The day I went to bring her from my younger sibling’s home, I had gone there to check on her and perform my duty as a son,” he recalled.

The actor said his mother’s words about her welfare deeply affected him.
“My mum said she would rather be thrown into the sea than remain where she was because she wasn’t comfortable there,” he said.
Moved by her plea, Baba Elesho decided to bring her to Lagos. However, he revealed that upon arriving home, he did not immediately take her inside.
He disclosed that he left his mother in the car and went upstairs to inform his wife first.
“It was on Sunday, I went upstairs to meet my wife, prostrated and told her I had a visitor. She asked who, I replied Alhaja,” he recounted.
He explained that his wife wanted to know why she had not been informed earlier, giving him the chance to explain the circumstances surrounding his mother’s arrival.

“She asked what happened and I explained everything. I told her that my mum said if there was nowhere else to take her, I should throw her into the sea, and that was why I brought her,” the actor added.
Baba Elesho said he intentionally spoke with his wife before bringing his mother into the house because he believes major family decisions should involve her.
“I came to speak with my wife first because she had to know about it. You own the home and your reactions matter,” he said.
The actor insisted that respect, communication, and understanding are the pillars of his marriage, stressing that his wife plays a leading role in the family.
“My wife is the head of my family,” he declared.
