LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Kairat chairman Qairat Boranbaev has revealed that Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso closely studied teenage forward Dastan Satpayev during the Kazakh club’s meeting with the Spanish giants.
Boranbaev said Alonso spoke highly of the 17-year-old after the match, describing him as a player Real Madrid had monitored in detail.
“I don’t know if it’s a loan or not. I can only speak about my own club,” Boranbaev said.
“But what I do know is that when we played against Real Madrid, I had a conversation with Xabi Alonso after the match. At that time, he told me they had been closely monitoring Dastan Satpayev.”
The Kairat chairman added that the Real Madrid coach was already familiar with the teenager’s qualities.

“Alonso knows Dastan well and said that, out of the current squad, he was the only player they had studied in detail. He knows his qualities and has seen the way he plays,” he said.
Boranbaev also expressed confidence that Satpayev has the ability to succeed at Chelsea, who signed the Kazakhstan youth international in 2025.
“Personally, I am very confident that Dastan can establish himself in the first team of Chelsea,” he said.
Satpayev is regarded as one of Kazakhstan’s brightest young prospects and remains part of Chelsea’s long-term development plans.
Neither Real Madrid nor Alonso has publicly commented on Boranbaev’s remarks, while there has been no official indication of transfer or loan discussions involving the player.
