LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has extended its condolences to NextEdition publisher Victoria Ibanga following the death of her husband, offering prayers and support to her family during the difficult period.
The condolence message was contained in a statement issued on June 13 by GOCOP’s Publicity Secretary, Kemi Yesufu.
The letter was formally presented to Mrs. Ibanga during a visit to her residence on Friday by a delegation led by GOCOP Deputy President, Mr. Olumide Iyanda.
In the message, the guild described the news of her husband’s passing as deeply saddening and assured her of the support of its members.
“On behalf of the Executive Committee and the entire membership of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, GOCOP, we extend our heartfelt condolences to you on the passing of your husband. We received the sad news with deep sorrow. Please accept our sincere sympathy during this difficult period of grief and loss,” the letter stated.

The organization also prayed for strength and comfort for Mrs. Ibanga, her children, and other family members.
“We pray that the Almighty God will grant you, your children and the entire family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May his soul rest in peace,” the guild added.
Notably, the condolence letter jointly signed by GOCOP President, Mr. Danlami Nmodu, MNI, and General Secretary, Mr. Sufuyan Ojeifo, conveyed the support of the guild’s leadership.
The visit highlighted the solidarity within Nigeria’s media community, with colleagues rallying around the NextEdition publisher during a time of personal loss.
The guild further assured Mrs. Ibanga of its continued support while extending its highest regards to her and her family.
