LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian rapper Falz has voiced frustration after encountering counter-protesters during a demonstration against rising insecurity, saying he was shocked that anyone would oppose efforts aimed at drawing attention to kidnappings and violent attacks across the country.
Speaking after the demonstration in Lagos, Falz, a known activist said he found it difficult to understand why anyone would oppose a movement focused on raising awareness about worsening security challenges and the plight of kidnapped Nigerians.
The rapper claimed that supporters of President Bola Tinubu had mobilized a separate group of demonstrators to counter the protest.
“We stepped out yesterday to protest worsening levels of insecurity and mass abductions around the country. What was wild to see was that Tinubu and his supporters had rented a crowd of counter protesters, the majority of which were women,” he said.
Falz stressed that insecurity should not be viewed through a political lens, arguing that the crisis affects all Nigerians regardless of their beliefs or affiliations.

Referring to reports of abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, he noted that many victims remain unaccounted for despite public concern.
“These women have children. Incase you don’t know why we are out there protesting. The children that were taken from schools in Oyo state, they still have not been found,” he stated.
The rapper also cited reports of attacks in parts of the country, pointing to communities that have suffered deadly violence and mass abductions.
“Let me put this in perspective for you. There is a community called Woro in Kwara state. February 3rd into 4th this year, this same year, by 5:30 pm, insurgents attacked this community,” he said.
According to Falz, hundreds of people were reportedly affected during the attack, with many still believed to be in captivity.
“It could be your children tomorrow. It could eventually be your children, just incase you don’t know what you are doing. This is the end of us if we allow this to continue,” he added.
