LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Veteran Nollywood actor and politician Emeka Ike appeared at the “Tinubu Must Go” protest in Abuja, where he urged authorities to tackle insecurity and protect Nigerians from kidnappers, bandits, and violent attacks.
The actor was among participants at the June 12 protest tagged “Tinubu Must Go,” led by social activist VeryDarkMan and other human rights campaigners.
A video from the demonstration quickly gained attention online, showing Emeka addressing protesters and speaking passionately about the impact of banditry, kidnapping, and violent crime on ordinary Nigerians.
During his speech, the actor lamented the loss of freedom many citizens now face, particularly when travelling by road.

According to him, highways that once connected families and communities have become sources of fear due to recurring attacks by criminal groups.
“I love travelling by road, but today I am denied that freedom. So many Nigerians love travelling by road, but we are no longer safe. We are begging the government, please don’t let this go too far. It might be your children tomorrow. Our children may not be there today, but somebody’s child is there. Please, let’s stop this killing. Let’s stop bandits from taking over our country,” he said.
Furthermore, Emeka warned that the continued spread of insecurity could have serious consequences for the nation’s future if urgent measures are not taken.
His appearance at the protest comes shortly after he made headlines over a separate dispute involving the alleged leak of his INEC data, a matter that also generated widespread discussion on social media.
The demonstration attracted support from several public figures, reflecting growing public concern about security challenges in different parts of the country.
