LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Manchester City supporters are celebrating the third anniversary of the club’s historic treble-winning season, which culminated in Champions League glory against Inter Milan in Istanbul on June 10, 2023.
Pep Guardiola’s side completed one of the greatest campaigns in English football history by winning the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League in the same season.
City secured their third consecutive Premier League title before defeating rivals Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
The season reached its climax in Istanbul, where Rodri’s 68th-minute goal handed City a 1-0 victory over Inter Milan and their first-ever Champions League title.
The triumph made Manchester City only the second English club to complete the treble after Manchester United achieved the feat in 1999.
Celebrations erupted across Manchester following the final whistle, with thousands of supporters taking to the streets to mark the achievement.
