LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Reality TV star and actress Bam Bam Olawunmi-Adenibuyan has addressed the phone theft incident that occurred during the service of songs held in honour of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, clarifying a viral video that sparked speculation online.
The actress broke her silence after a viral video circulated online showing a woman allegedly taking a phone from her bag.
The footage sparked speculation on social media, with many attempting to identify the person involved.
In a video posted to her social media page, Bam Bam dismissed the claims, explaining that the woman seen in the video was her personal assistant and not connected to the disappearance of her phone.
According to the actress, she only discovered the device was missing after leaving the event and getting into her car.

She noted that several attendees approached her during the gathering for greetings, conversations and selfies, making it difficult to determine exactly when the phone went missing.
“I got into my car and noticed my phone wasn’t with me. The video circulating around of a lady removing a phone from my bag. That was my personal assistant,” she explained.
Reflecting on the incident, Bam Bam revealed that her greatest concern was not the value of the phone itself but the personal information stored on it.
“First thing that hit me was compassion. I was really sad that my contacts, my videos..a lot of my photos and videos weren’t backed up on the cloud,” the actress added.
The actress expressed disappointment that anyone would choose a solemn occasion dedicated to mourning and remembrance as an opportunity to steal.
“The next thing I felt was compassion. What would make any human being consider a service of songs a place to rob?” she asked.
She further disclosed that multiple guests reportedly lost their phones during the event, including some of her friends, another attendee and even a relative of the late actor.
“And it wasn’t just my phone that was stolen. My friends, and I think even one of Alex’s brother’s phone too and then another guy. It was sad…..” she revealed.
Her comments come hours after fellow actor Stan Nze also lamented reports of theft at the Lagos memorial gathering, revealing that more than five phones were allegedly reported missing during the event.
