LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of defender Marcos Senesi on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Bournemouth.
The Argentine centre-back has been confirmed as Tottenham’s latest addition and will wear the No. 5 shirt ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Senesi joins Spurs after a successful four-year spell at Bournemouth, where he made 128 appearances, scoring six goals and providing 10 assists.
The 29-year-old was one of the Premier League’s most productive defenders during the 2023/24 campaign, recording more goal involvements than any other centre-back in the division.

Senesi began his professional career in his native Argentina before moving to Europe, where he established himself as one of the Eredivisie’s most reliable defenders.
Nicknamed “El Gladiador” by supporters during his time in the Netherlands, he played a key role in helping his club reach the UEFA Europa Conference League final.
Known for his composure on the ball, Senesi is comfortable building attacks from the back and possesses strong tackling and interception skills. His ability to read the game has been one of the hallmarks of his defensive play throughout his career.
The defender is expected to add experience and leadership to Tottenham’s backline as the club prepares for the new campaign.
