LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Chelsea have announced a change to the date of their pre-season friendly against Johor Darul Ta’zim in Malaysia.
The match, originally scheduled for August 11, 2026, at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, will now be played on August 9 following a mutual agreement between both clubs.
According to Chelsea and event organisers TEG Sport, the fixture was brought forward by two days to give both teams additional time to prepare for the 2026/27 season.
The revised schedule will also allow Chelsea more time to return to London, recover and complete their preparations ahead of the start of the Premier League campaign on August 22.

In a statement to supporters, the club confirmed that tickets purchased for the original date would remain valid for the rescheduled fixture.
“If you have already purchased tickets, you do not need to do anything. All existing tickets are fully valid for the new date. If you are unable to attend on the new date, full ticket refunds are available by email before June 30, 2026,” Chelsea said.
The match will kick off at 8 p.m. local time at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri, Johor.
The fixture forms part of Chelsea’s preparations for the new season as the Blues continue to fine-tune their squad ahead of another demanding campaign.
