LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has surprised fans by revealing that she welcomed a daughter more than two years ago, opening up about her decision to keep the child’s birth private while reflecting on a deeply personal journey.
The actress made the revelation on her birthday on Sunday, June 7, through an Instagram post accompanied by pregnancy photos and a close-up image of her daughter’s hand.
According to Adunni, she and her family intentionally kept the news away from public attention so they could enjoy the experience in peace.

“Today, on my birthday, I’m finally sharing what we’ve protected for over two years,” she wrote.

The actress described the journey as both challenging and rewarding, saying it came with personal struggles that strengthened her along the way.
Adunni revealed that her daughter, affectionately called Baby Sal, is her first child with her partner, @iambbysal.
She described the little girl as a long-awaited blessing and an answer to years of prayers.
“God gave me mine. Fully. Peacefully. Intentionally. A journey of almost a decade. Our baby girl, our answered prayer, my evidence that God still writes beautiful stories in His own time,” she said.
Explaining why the family chose privacy, the actress stressed that the decision was never about secrecy but about protecting a special moment from public scrutiny.

“We chose privacy. Not because we owed anyone secrecy but because peace is priceless, and not everything good needs an audience. We wanted to enjoy our blessing,” Adunni stated.
The actress also addressed assumptions often directed at women whose personal lives remain out of the spotlight.
She urged people not to attach controversy to every untold story, saying, “Not every single mother fits your assumptions. Not every story is scandal. Not every blessing comes with drama attached.”
Furthermore, Adunni maintained that her daughter’s birth was not connected to any relationship controversy, firmly dismissing potential speculation.
In a postscript, she added, “No single home is or was broken in the making of our Baby Sal.”

While many fans know her through her acting career, Adunni noted that there is a private side of her life that she chooses to keep away from public view.
“Adunni Ade online is one thing. Adunni Adewale at home is something you may never fully understand and that’s okay,” she wrote.
The actress also expressed appreciation to family, friends and supporters who have continued to show her love and offer prayers over the years.
Already a proud mother of two sons, Adunni has often spoken about the importance of family and the close bond she shares with her children.
Ending her announcement on a warm note, the actress shared a simple message that resonated with many of her followers.
“It’s always love,” Adunni concluded.
