ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors will host the 2026 edition of its Annual Lecture on June 11  in Lagos, bringing together business executives, policymakers, regulators, legal practitioners and academics to discuss developments in Nigeria’s hospitality sector.

The event will hold at the PAS World Centre, Lekki, Lagos, beginning at 11 a.m. the  theme: “Development, financing, and value creation in Nigeria’s hospitality sector.”

Managing Partner, Mrs Elizabeth Idigbe, said the lecture would focus on opportunities and challenges in Nigeria’s hospitality industry, particularly in the areas of investment, tourism development, enterprise growth, job creation, regulation, financing and infrastructure.

According to her, the sector offers significant opportunities for investment and economic growth but also presents important questions relating to regulation, financing, infrastructure and the legal frameworks.

Mrs Idigbe said: “The theme has been carefully selected in recognition of the increasingly strategic role of the hospitality sector within Nigeria’s evolving economic landscape.

“As the country intensifies its focus on diversification and sustainable growth, the sector presents significant opportunities for investment, tourism development, enterprise expansion, and job creation.

“At the same time, it raises critical questions regarding regulation, financing, infrastructure, and the legal frameworks necessary to support long-term competitiveness.”

Partner and Head of the Annual Lecture Committee, Adeyinka Abdulsalam, described the event as one of the firm’s flagship initiatives aimed at promoting informed discourse on issues at the intersection of law, business, governance and economic development.

He noted that the lecture has evolved into a respected platform for high-level engagement, bringing together senior practitioners, regulators, government officials, business leaders and members of academia to discuss issues of national importance.

“The lecture will provide a robust platform for interrogating these issues and advancing practical, forward-looking perspectives on the future of the sector,” Abdulsalam said.

PUNUKA Attorneys & Solicitors is a full-service law firm known for its legal advisory services and contributions to policy and institutional development.

The firm said it expects robust participation from stakeholders across the public and private sectors at this year’s event.
