LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has stirred fresh controversy in the ongoing Mohbad death investigation after releasing alleged private WhatsApp chats involving the late singer’s widow.
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, under mysterious circumstances.
His passing triggered nationwide grief, widespread tributes, and ongoing calls for justice.
Despite court hearings, police investigations, and multiple arrests, the exact circumstances of his death remain unresolved till this day.

Fabiyi, who has been actively pushing for a deeper investigation, recently submitted a petition demanding renewed scrutiny into the case.
He followed this up with posts on Instagram where he published alleged chat screenshots he claims are linked to Mohbad’s wife.
In the shared messages, Omowunmi was allegedly seen expressing fear that the truth behind Mohbad’s death could surface.
She was also quoted as saying she regretted “pushing” her husband, a claim that caught attention following Fabiyi’s past accusations of the late singer suffering a fall.
In the chat exchanges, a person identified as Temmi reportedly reassured Wunmi not to worry while also mentioning plans to continue targeting an individual referred to as Oloriebi.
The messages further suggested requests for money and a list of individuals connected to the situation.
Fabiyi added more claims in his caption, stating that Mohbad’s brother, Adura, had previously supported allegations that the singer had a disagreement with his wife before his death.
He also referenced a Prado driver who reportedly transported Mohbad and others to his final event a day before he passed away, suggesting the driver had shared related information.
Further expanding his claims, the actor alleged that Mohbad’s mother had publicly insisted her son did not die naturally, implying foul play.
He also raised additional accusations, including claims that Mohbad’s widow may have had another relationship and that a man allegedly entered the home and attacked the singer before his death.
Fabiyi used the posts to call for renewed justice efforts, questioning why some of the issues he raised had not been fully investigated by authorities.
Tensions between Fabiyi and members of Mohbad’s family have remained high for months, with earlier disputes involving the late singer’s brother, Adura.
The ongoing disagreement continues to add fuel to public debate as fans await clearer answers.
