LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Manchester United have reached an agreement with Atalanta for the signing of Brazilian midfielder Ederson in a deal worth an initial £35 million (€40.5 million).
The transfer includes performance-based add-ons that could increase the overall fee to around £38 million (€45 million), with the 26-year-old expected to become one of the club’s first major signings of the summer.
The 26-year-old will sign a four-year contract at Old Trafford, subject to a medical.
The deal includes the option to extend it by a further 12 months, keeping him at the club until 2030 if triggered.

United moved fast for the Brazil international after making him a priority midfield target. Ederson impressed in Serie A with his energy, tackling and ball-carrying from deep.
He’s seen as the physical presence United’s midfield has lacked.
The agreement is done between clubs. Ederson’s medical and personal terms are the final steps before an official announcement.
He’ll arrive as United’s latest midfield reinforcement as the club reshapes the squad ahead of the new season.
