LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Ivy Ifeoma, wife of Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has advised single women to pursue financial independence rather than making marriage to a wealthy man their ultimate goal.
In a now viral video, Ifeoma advised single women to focus on building their own wealth and success instead of viewing marriage to a rich man as a life ambition.
The fashion influencer stated that while marrying into a wealthy family may provide access to opportunities, a woman should prioritize creating her own financial security and personal achievements.
“Marrying a rich man should not be anybody’s primary goal. Why would you even want to have a primary goal of marrying someone because they are rich? At the end of the day, it is their money, not your money,” Ifeoma said.
Addressing assumptions about her marriage to Rudeboy, Ifeoma dismissed claims that she married the singer because of his wealth.
She disclosed that she was already a “millionaire” and had already achieved financial success before meeting him.

“This is my take on the idea of marrying a rich man and before you come for me, know that I was a millionaire before I met this man [Paul Okoye],” she disclosed.
Therefore, Ifeoma encouraged women to invest in themselves, develop valuable skills, and pursue their personal goals.
She stressed that successful and wealthy individuals are often attracted to partners who are ambitious, hardworking, and self-sufficient.
“Don’t get me wrong, marrying rich is a very good add-on because it can open doors of opportunities for you. But what I will tell you to do as a woman is to get rich,” Ifeoma advised.
Ifeoma and Rudeboy tied the knot on May 24, 2024, following the end of the singer’s marriage to his first wife, Anita Okoye.
The couple welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Imari Ugoma Okoye, in November 2024.
Despite public discussions about the age gap between them, Ifeoma has consistently maintained that their relationship is built on genuine love, mutual respect, and companionship rather than financial security, describing those values as the foundation of their thriving friendship and marriage.
