ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has appealed to residents to forgive the shortcomings of his administration and those of elected federal and state lawmakers, while urging continued support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The governor made the appeal on Sunday during a democracy thanksgiving service held at the Government House Chapel, Abakaliki, to mark the third anniversary of his administration.
Addressing worshippers, government officials, political stakeholders and religious leaders, Nwifuru admitted that his administration, members of the National Assembly, and the Ebonyi State House of Assembly may have made mistakes in the course of governance. He urged citizens to overlook those shortcomings and continue backing their elected representatives.
“Please forgive us; forgive me and the National Assembly members and the House of Assembly members. Forgive our shortcomings and vote for us again,” he said.

The thanksgiving service was attended by prominent political figures, including former governors of the state among them the Minister of Works, David Umahi, and Martin Elechi as well as serving senators, government officials, and other political stakeholders.
