The governor was officially declared the winner by the Labour Party’s National Organising Secretary, Mrs. Oluchi Okpara, who served as the returning officer for the governorship primary conducted at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia.
In the senatorial contest, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, who represents Abia South Senatorial District, also secured the Labour Party’s ticket for what would be his sixth term bid in the Senate.
