ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- President of the United States Donald Trump has said he is “not satisfied” with Iran’s current offers in ongoing negotiations aimed at reaching a possible agreement over the Middle East conflict.
Speaking during a cabinet meeting at the White House, Trump stated that although Iran appears interested in a deal, no acceptable agreement has yet been reached.
He noted that the United States is “not in a rush” to finalise any accord, despite earlier indications that a breakthrough might be near.
According to him, Iran remains “intent” on negotiating but has not yet met expectations, adding that Washington could either continue talks or “finish the job,” referring to possible renewed military action linked to previous operations involving the U.S. and Israel.

Trump also dismissed reports from Iranian state media suggesting that a draft agreement included provisions such as lifting a naval blockade and easing restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz, describing the claims as a “complete fabrication.”
The White House reiterated that no such agreement has been validated.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who attended the meeting, said discussions were ongoing and showed “some progress and some interest,” though he stressed that clarity would emerge in the coming days.
Trump further suggested that broader diplomatic issues, including relations between Iran and other Middle Eastern countries, could influence any final agreement.
He also repeated his stance that the United States would not accept arrangements that give external powers control over Iran’s uranium stockpiles, rejecting proposals involving third-party management.
The statement comes amid continued global attention on the Iran nuclear situation and its wider geopolitical implications.
