ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday joined Muslim faithful across the country to observe Eid prayers in Lagos and Abuja respectively.
Tinubu attended the Eid-el-Kabir prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos, where he was accompanied by top government officials including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, former Lagos Governor Babatunde Fashola, and Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat.
The President was also joined by other political and religious faithful at the prayer ground, as part of activities marking the Eid celebration.
In Abuja, Atiku Abubakar observed his own Eid prayers at the AYA Mosque.
The former Vice President said the occasion was one of gratitude to Allah for His blessings and called for unity, compassion, and peace among Nigerians.

“As we celebrate this sacred occasion, may the spirit of Eid strengthen our bonds of unity, compassion, sacrifice, and peace as one people and one nation,” Atiku said.
He also extended greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, praying for lasting peace and prosperity in the country.
The Eid celebrations saw political leaders using the occasion to emphasise national unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
