LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian record producer Osabuohien Osaretin, popularly known as Sarz, has revealed how pride and excessive confidence affected his relationship with other musicians during the early stage of his career.

The award-winning producer revealed that he once believed he was better than many people in the music industry, making it difficult for him to collaborate freely with colleagues.

Speaking during an interview with The Fadar, the “Back Outside” crooner admitted that he used to be “very hot-headed” when he first started making music.

“When I started making music, I was very hot-headed. I really wanted to impress everybody. I just thought I was the best thing to exist in music,” he said.

He disclosed that his mindset later changed with experience and personal growth.

The producer explained that he eventually realized that no one knows everything in music, regardless of success or experience.

Sarz noted that the new perspective helped him become more open to learning from others, including upcoming artistes and young producers entering the industry.

“But now I understand that I don’t know it all. I’m always willing to learn from anyone—even someone that just started yesterday,” he added.

Over the years, Sarz has become one of the most respected producers in Afrobeats, working with several top artistes across Nigeria and beyond.

In September 2025, he released his highly anticipated debut studio album, Protect Sarz At All Costs, after years of producing hit records for several artists and putting out collaborative EPs and joint projects.
