ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The crisis within the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) deepened on Wednesday as the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, called for the disbandment of the party’s influential Justice Forum and Mandate Movement groups over alleged manipulation of primaries.

Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Tinubu, made the call during a meeting with market leaders and stakeholders at her office in Alausa, Ikeja, where she strongly criticised the conduct of APC House of Representatives primaries in some constituencies.

She specifically faulted the primaries in Mushin Constituency I, Agege Constituency II, and Ojokoro, alleging that the mandate of some aspirants who won was allegedly “stolen” and given to “non-winners.”

According to her, the affected aspirants were unfairly treated despite allegedly securing clear victories at the polls.

She also condemned what she described as political manipulation within party structures, warning that such actions undermine internal democracy and could trigger wider unrest within the party.

“We have to cry out now; let the APC cancel Justice and Mandate Forums,” she said, adding that political leaders must ensure fairness and respect for electoral outcomes within the party.

Tinubu-Ojo further argued that hard work in politics was being discouraged by the alleged manipulation of primary results, insisting that genuine winners should not be denied their mandates.

She also raised concerns about the treatment of market women in Lagos politics, saying they have consistently supported the APC but have not been adequately rewarded with recognition or political inclusion.

Meanwhile, aggrieved party members in affected constituencies have threatened protests if the disputed primary results are not reversed, insisting that justice must be done.

The development adds to growing internal tensions within the Lagos APC, where factional struggles between the Justice Forum and Mandate Movement continue to shape the party’s political dynamics ahead of the 2027 elections.
