ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has approved a N20,000 Eid-el-Kabir goodwill package for civil servants working in the state and the 44 local government areas.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kano by the Press Secretary to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Tanko-Muhammad.
According to the statement, “the gesture is aims at supporting workers ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.”

The announcement comes shortly after the payment of May salaries to workers in both the state and local government councils.
The statement further noted that “the intervention would cover civil servants on Grade Levels 01 to 14 in state ministries, departments, agencies, and local government councils across Kano.”
It quoted Governor Yusuf as saying that “the the initiative reflected his administration’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of workers, whom he described as the backbone of the public service in the state.”
The governor explained that the approval was influenced by prevailing economic challenges and the increased financial burden often associated with festive periods.
He added that the support “would help workers celebrate Eid with comfort and renewed hope alongside their families.”
Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing policies aimed at improving workers’ welfare, enhancing productivity and sustaining an effective public service system.
He also extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to civil servants and residents of Kano State, praying for peace, unity and prosperity in the state and across the country.
