LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Popular Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has shared details about how he first met his estranged wife, May Edochie, while reflecting on his early relationship journey and views on love.
Yul made the revelation during a recent appearance on the The Honest Bunch Podcast, where he spoke about marriage, boundaries in relationships and his controversial personal life.
The actor revealed he got married to May at the age of 22 after meeting her years earlier during their General Certificate Examination (GCE).
“I got married to May when I was 22 years old. We met when I was writing GCE. We were in the same centre,” he said.
Given the public attention surrounding his marriage to actress Judy Austin and the ongoing discussions about his relationship with May, the actor’s comments quickly sparked reactions online.
During the conversation, he also spoke about his personal beliefs regarding relationships, warning men against becoming excessively emotionally dependent in love.
“They no dey mumu for woman. No! You must set boundaries,” the actor declared.
Explaining further, he suggested that some people tolerate unhealthy behavior because of emotions.
“Mumu na anything wey she do, you take am. Anything wey she do, you take am, ‘Ah, I love her (Judy).’ But, no, you must set boundaries,” Yul added.
