ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Gabriel Pidomson, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State after securing a decisive victory in the party’s primary election.
Pidomson polled a total of 112,086 votes to defeat five other aspirants in a keenly contested exercise held across the state.
The primary election was conducted across all 319 wards of Rivers State using the Option A4 voting system, where party members openly lined up behind their preferred candidates.
The exercise, which spanned the 23 local government areas of the state, was part of the ADC’s broader timetable for selecting candidates for the 2027 general elections, including senatorial, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly positions.
The governorship primary itself was held on Friday, while other party primaries were conducted a day earlier to produce candidates across various elective offices.
