LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian media personality Amarachi Amusi, known widely as Ashmusy, has revealed that she hopes to have a mixed-race child in the future, explaining that freezing her eggs has removed the pressure to rush into marriage before becoming a mother.
During a recent episode of the Echo Room Podcast, the content creator revealed she nearly entered the wrong marriage because she feared running out of time to become a mother before turning 35.
Now that she has frozen her eggs, Ashmusy noted that it has given her peace of mind and changed her perspective about motherhood.
She said her decision has helped her avoid making commitment choices out of desperation.
āI want to get married, but I am not desperate. Just in case the right suitor doesnāt come, I am already safeguarded. I am already sure of being a mom by Godās grace,ā she said.
Ashmusy also explained that sheās now free to keep her options open for the future, including the possibility of having a mixed child through insemination.
āBut I donāt have to go through again because I have frozen my eggs. In the next 3-10 years, I can confidently go for insemination and have my mixed kid. I want to have a mixed kid,ā she stated.
The influencer further argued that many women rush into marriage because of fears surrounding their biological clock, often leading them into unhappy relationships.
āHonestly, most women who rush into marriage early do so because of the myth of the biological clock. With that rush, you now end up getting into the wrong marriage. I almost did,ā she explained.
Ashmusy disclosed that she once considered marrying a man she knew was not right for her simply because he was ready to settle down while she was eager to have children.
āI knew the man wasnāt my ideal husband, but I wanted to get married to him because he was ready, and I was desperate to give birth before I clocked 35,ā the content creator added.
