LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- President Bola Tinubu has been declared the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary in Ondo State by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The announcement was made on Sunday in Akure after collation of results from all 18 local government areas.

According to the final figures of Saturday’s election, Tinubu won unanimously by 181,966 votes, while his opponent, Stanley Osifo, received no vote.

ā€œAlthough two aspirants contested for the APC presidential ticket, the second contestant, Mr Osifo Osayeme Stanley, failed to secure a single vote, while President Tinubu won all the votes cast in the state,ā€ Aiyedatiwa stated.

The exercise was conducted across the state with strong party turnout, reflecting what officials described as overwhelming support for the president.

Governor Aiyedatiwa who serves as the returning collating officer, said 193,334 APC members were registered for the primary, while 181,996 were accredited to participate.

He added that the same number of votes were cast, representing a participation rate of about 93 percent.

Aiyedatiwa reported that the election process was peaceful, organized, and showed unity within the party.

ā€œParty members demonstrated unity and loyalty by unanimously supporting President Tinubu during the exercise,ā€ he said.

He further confirmed the outcome, noting the margin of victory as a fresh political wave sweeping through the region.

The governor also added that the result signals strong alignment between the state chapter of the party and the national leadership, with ambitions to deliver one million votes for Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

In his reaction, Ondo State APC Chairman, Babatunde Kolawole, praised the governor and party members for ensuring a peaceful and transparent exercise.

Notably, former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, commended the growing support Tinubu continues to receive from state governors across the country, describing it as a broad political consensus.

He also welcomed the federal government’s recognition of Ondo State, noting that the state currently has three serving ministers in Tinubu’s cabinet.

Political observers agree that the overwhelming result further strengthens the president’s position within the APC as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
