LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Celebrity Lagos socialite Pretty Mike has shared his plans to get married someday, while addressing the financial setback he suffered after his nightclub was shut down following a raid by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
At a press briefing with news correspondents his Lagos club, Proxy, the nightlife entrepreneur said he still sees marriage and raising a family as an important life goal despite public perceptions about his lifestyle.
“Am I looking forward to marriage? Yes. I believe marriage is a major achievement. There’s nothing more beautiful than building a family and raising children together,” he said.

Pretty Mike noted that although he has been deeply involved in weddings as a best man 45 times, he has also seen many of those relationships fail, making people more careful about commitment.
He explained that lasting relationships go beyond physical attraction.
“For me, it’s about behaviour, attitude, and personality. Physical appearance is not enough to sustain a marriage,” he added.
Known for his controversial lifestyle, he also addressed his widely discussed public image, explaining that his public reputation is more of a professional outcome than a personal choice.
“My brand is already a controversial brand. It doesn’t necessarily mean I like controversy, but in this business, it is part of it,” Pretty Mike stated.

Despite his flashy public appearances, the nightlife mogul revealed a more private side of his personality.
“I actually hate parties and loud music. I like staying indoors by myself, but because nightlife is my business and source of income, I have to push myself out there,” he explained.
The socialite also opened up on the impact of a nine-month closure of his club, saying it cost him about N3 billion in revenue.
He also disclosed spending over N100 million on renovations to reposition his Victoria Island venue.
“The club was closed for nine months, which was financially and emotionally challenging for me and my team. I felt there was a need to rebuild and create something even better for people who support my business,” he further revealed.

Pretty Mike added that despite the setback, he remained financially stable due to multiple income streams and strong support systems.
“The brand, Pretty Mike, is always making money. That is what has kept me afloat regardless,” he stated.
Beyond the trills of nightlife, he also revealed involvement in construction and real estate development, noting that his reputation has helped him attract investors who trust his business decisions.
“I have a construction firm. I’m also slightly into real estate, then of course, there’s family support. People feel safe investing with me because they know I’m not the type to disappear,” he added.
He concluded by stating that credibility built over the years continues to play a key role in sustaining his ventures despite his many public controversies.
