ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Ahead of the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination into technical colleges nationwide, the National Business and Technical Examinations Board has extended the registration deadline to May 31 and postponed the examination date to June 13.
The adjustment was announced in a statement issued on Sunday in Benin by NABTEB’s Assistant Director, Media and Protocol, Mr Uchechukwu Olisah.
According to Olisah, the extension was approved by the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr Aminu Mohammed.

He explained that the approval was conveyed through an internal memorandum signed by the Director of Examinations Administration, Ms Chigoziem Metu.
“With this extension, the registration for the National Common Entrance Examination will close on Sunday, May 31, while the examination earlier scheduled for Saturday, June 6, will now hold on Saturday, June 13,” he said.
Olisah stated that the decision followed appeals from prospective candidates requesting more time to complete their registration.
He added that the registrar urged candidates to utilise the extension period to finalise all registration requirements before the new deadline.
Olisah also quoted Mohammed as encouraging entrepreneurially minded students and candidates seeking admission into technical colleges to register for and participate in NABTEB examinations.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the examination is conducted for admission into technical colleges across Nigeria.
