LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actress Sophia Chisom, widely known as Soso, has shared her thoughts on intimate scenes in the movie industry, insisting that actors should treat onscreen kisses as part of the job rather than a romantic experience.
The actress addressed the “kissing” issue during an interview on esplash with TVC.
Soso stated that she maintains strict boundaries whenever she acts in kissing scenes.
The content creator explained that she majorly avoids using her tongue during such moments because she is careful about exchanging saliva with colleagues on set.
“I don’t know if people kiss with their tongues but I do not kiss with my tongue. My teeth are always close during kissing scenes so it is just the lips. But because it is an act, we have to make it believable,” she said.
Soso stressed that acting should remain professional despite the emotional nature of certain scenes.
“Some people kiss with their tongues but I don’t think it is okay to swap saliva with every single person that you shoot with. Besides, it is a job. So whenever I see a colleague complaining that they didn’t get a good kiss it is weird. You are not supposed to get a good kiss, it is a job,” she remarked.
Her comments come shortly after several Nollywood actors, including Saga Adeolu, one of her frequent collaborators opened up about their experiences with onscreen kissing scenes, stating that they are often uncomfortable rather than pleasurable.
Meanwhile, Soso recently gained further recognition in the entertainment industry after winning the Best Digital Content Creator award at the 2026 AMVCA.
The award added another milestone to her growing career in Nollywood, where she continues to attract massive attention.
