LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood star Daniel Etim Effiong has shared his honest thoughts about infidelity in marriage, offering a calm perspective and support over condemnation.

The actor spoke during an interview on the Dear Ife series hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, where the discussion focused on how couples should handle cheating in relationships.

Speaking on the sensitive topic, Effiong explained that his first reaction would not be anger or judgment if his spouse cheated on him.

Instead, he said he would focus on helping the person overcome the situation or habit.

“If your husband cheats, the first thing is to find how to help him come out of the problem,” he said.

The actor noted that anyone involved in cheating may already be struggling internally and would need understanding rather than condemnation.

He explained that real love should not be centered only on personal feelings.

Effiong also stated that resolving the act itself should come before discussing deeper relationship problems.

He maintained that helping a partner stop cheating is the first priority before addressing other marital issues.

“I know it’s a hard thing to think about but don’t be self seeking that way,” he added.

The movie star went on to compare cheating with other wrong actions such as lying, stealing, or disrespect, insisting that couples should work through such challenges together instead of immediately giving up on the relationship.
