LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian gospel singer Tim Godfrey has shared how he met his wife, Erica, revealing the emotional journey that led to their marriage, including the moment he knew she was “the one.”
The couple reflected on their four-year journey together during a recent appearance on Teju Babyface’s podcast, while sharing intimate details about how their romance began.
The “Nara” hitmaker said their introduction came through a mutual friend after he made a personal decision about his search for love.
Tim explained that he had prayed about finding a wife and even told God that if it did not happen that year, he would stop actively searching for a partner.
Things changed while he was abroad. A friend sent him photos of several women, but Erica immediately caught his attention.
After they finally met in person, Tim said he had to “fight” for their relationship before they eventually became husband and wife.
Also, Erica recalled having serious thoughts about marriage from the very beginning.
She explained that after meeting Tim through the same mutual friend, she instantly wondered whether their relationship would lead to marriage.
She further revealed that her husband first spoke about marrying her after she picked him up from the airport.

According to Erica, the moment marked the beginning of a deeper connection between them.
Speaking about their marriage, Erica admitted that she often prayed for her husband to remain emotionally committed to her alone.
Tim also spoke warmly about the airport encounter, saying he immediately felt convinced Erica was the woman he wanted to spend his life with.
Recalling the moment she walked toward him, he said he told her right there that she was his wife.
The gospel artist also praised Erica’s independence and accomplishments before they got married.
He noted that she already owned a house, had her dream car, and was doing well professionally when they met.
