Chinedu Alumona Named Chief Data Officer Ambassador

ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Chinedu Alumona, a Nigerian technology professional with expertise in telecom solution planning and deployment as well as IT service delivery for digital and enterprise transformation initiatives, has been recognised as a Chief Data Officer Ambassador under the Country Chief Data Officer Ambassador Programme for Nigeria.

The appointment comes under the CCDOA initiative, which is aligned with the MIT Chief Data Officer & Information Quality Programme in collaboration with isCDO and CDO Magazine USA. 

The programme identifies professionals contributing to data governance, digital transformation, artificial intelligence innovation, and analytics development globally.

Alumona was recognised for his contributions to software development and data-driven solutions, reflecting his role in advancing Nigeria’s participation in the global digital economy.

The programme highlights professionals who champion data-driven decision-making, influence AI and analytics innovation, strengthen digital governance, and contribute to shaping the future of data leadership.

Speaking on the recognition, Alumona said, ā€œThis recognition is not just about individual achievement, but about Nigeria’s growing role in the global data community. Together, we can harness technology to drive sustainable growth and innovation.ā€

As part of the CCDOA network, he will join a global community of Chief Data Officers, participate in international programmes such as the MIT CDOIQ Symposium, and contribute to both national and international data initiatives.

The recognition further underscores Nigeria’s expanding footprint in global data leadership, with professionals like Alumona playing a role in advancing innovation and digital transformation.
