ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Seyi Tinubu has urged celebrity businessman, Cubana Chief Priest, to remain optimistic following his inability to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State.

The APC primary election for the constituency was conducted on Saturday as political parties intensified preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, had indicated interest in representing the constituency under the ruling party and purchased both the expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the primary.

The socialite, who also serves as the Imo State coordinator of the City Boy Movement, had said his ambition was inspired by the need to promote youth inclusion, grassroots development and greater political participation among young people in the constituency.

However, he failed to secure the party’s ticket at the end of the exercise.

Reacting to the development on Sunday through his Instagram story, Seyi Tinubu, who is the Grand Patron of the City Boy Movement, encouraged Okechukwu not to be discouraged by the outcome.

According to him, temporary setbacks could eventually lead to bigger opportunities and victories in the future.

“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war. Keep your head up @cubana_chiefpriest. We know what you are capable of achieving,” he wrote.

The message has since drawn reactions online, with supporters of the businessman expressing encouragement over his political ambition despite the outcome of the APC primary.
