LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- The founder and CEO of Cimfoni Technologies, Maxwell Afamefuna Nzekwe has been recognized as a Chief Data Officer Ambassador under the Country Chief Data Officer Ambassador (CCDOA) Program Nigeria.
The entrepreneur and author was honored during the 2026 Annual Conference, Induction Investiture of the Institute of Information Management, held at the Rahamon Adisa Bello Auditorium of the University of Lagos, Yaba on Saturday, May 16.
The recognition, aligns with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Chief Data Officer Information Quality (CDOIQ) Program in collaboration with isCDO and CDO Magazine USA.
It celebrates professionals driving excellence in data governance, cybersecurity leadership, analytics, artificial intelligence innovation, and digital transformation across industries.
Nzekwe, a growing influence in the global digital economy has built a reputation for promoting data-driven systems that support innovation, informed decision-making, and sustainable growth.

Speaking on the recognition, Nzekwe described the award as more than a personal achievement.
“This award is a call to action. It is about ensuring that Nigeria’s voice is heard in shaping the global digital future, and about building bridges between local innovation and international best practices,” he said.
Through the CCDOA network, Nzekwe is now positioned to collaborate with a global community of Chief Data Officers, contributing to international data initiatives, and participating in major engagements including the MIT CDOIQ Symposium.
The conference focused on the theme, “Empowering Data Governance Responsible AI for Africa’s Digital Future.”
During the event, the AI and data expert shared insights on secure digital ecosystems, responsible artificial intelligence, the future of data governance across Africa.
Nzekwe discussed emerging global concerns surrounding “Anthropic Mythos,” a newly introduced artificial intelligence model developed by Anthropic.
The model has drawn international attention because of its reported capability to independently identify and exploit cybersecurity vulnerabilities across operating systems, including browsers.

Explaining the implications of the technology, he noted that Mythos differs from traditional AI chatbots because of its offensive cybersecurity capabilities, which could drastically reduce the time needed to exploit security flaws.
He warned that the technology could reshape cybersecurity, financial systems, and global policy discussions if not properly regulated.
Nzekwe explained that governments, regulators, financial institutions, technology firms, and key stakeholders are already reviewing the risks associated with the AI model.
He further emphasized the need for stronger international cooperation to proffer and regulate data and AI laws to counter evolving threats powered by artificial intelligence.
This latest recognition adds to Nzekwe’s impressive profile which includes, the Co-founder of Talnts App, Founder of HocPay, and Co-convener of the Social Media Awards.
He is also a celebrated author and leader in data analysis, cybersecurity, network infrastructure, and information technology solutions.
