LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Veteran Nigerian singer Sunny Neji has shared the hidden temptations that come with singing romantic songs, saying many female fans, especially married women are naturally attracted to artists known for love-themed music.
Speaking during an interview with Yanga FM in Lagos, the “Oruka” crooner said romantic singers often attract strong attention from female admirers, including married women.
His comments come amid ongoing drama surrounding singer Chike. Media personality Frank Edoho, alleged that the singer was romantically involved with his wife Sandra, an affair that destroyed their marriage.
Reacting to the controversy, Sunny Neji explained that attraction from fans is common for artists whose songs focus on emotions, romance, and relationships.

He stressed that personal discipline is what truly matters to escape the temptations.
“If you are an artist who sings love and relationship-based songs, married women will naturally be drawn to you. That is normal, but what happens next depends on the choices you make. It is left for you to be disciplined and avoid temptations,” he said.
The respected singer became a household name after releasing his timeless hit song Oruka in December 2003.
The track stood out on his critically acclaimed album Unchained, which was produced by legendary music producer OJB Jezreel.
Over the years, Sunny Neji also earned praise for songs like “Tolotolo” and “Face Me,” tracks that helped shape Nigeria’s contemporary highlife sound.
