ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The Police Command in Nasarawa State says the six abducted students of the Faculty of Engineering, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Gudi campus, have been released.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Rahman Nansel, confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday in Lafia.
According to him, the victims are currently receiving medical attention and necessary support following their ordeal.
Nansel also disclosed that two suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the abduction.

He identified the suspects as Abdullahi Yeyi Haro, alleged leader of the kidnapping syndicate, and Basiru Abdullahi, both from Gudi, adding that they were arrested following sustained intelligence-led operations and coordinated tactical efforts by police operatives.
He said the arrests followed thorough investigation and strategic operations aimed at dismantling the criminal network behind the abduction.
Nansel said the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Shetima Mohammed, commended officers involved in the operation for their professionalism, resilience and commitment to safeguarding residents.
He said the commissioner reiterated the command’s resolve to rid the state of kidnapping and other violent crimes.
“The commissioner further assured members of the public that investigations are ongoing with a view to arresting other fleeing members of the syndicate and bringing all those involved in the crime to justice,” he said.
Nansel appreciated members of the public for their support and timely information, which he said contributed to the success of the operation.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to provide useful information to security agencies to support crime prevention and rapid response efforts.
