ABUJA, Nigeria ( VOICE OF NAIJA)-Air Peace has announced a temporary disruption of its Lagos–London Gatwick flight schedule following the detection of a minor fault during a routine technical inspection of the aircraft.

In a statement shared on its X handle by the airline’s management on Saturday, Air Peace said the issue was identified after passengers had boarded the plane, leading to the withdrawal of the aircraft from service in compliance with safety protocols.

“Following the completion of passenger boarding, a routine post-boarding technical check identified a minor aircraft fault that required immediate attention,” the airline stated.

The airline said all passengers were safely disembarked while engineers worked to resolve the issue.

Air Peace emphasised that the safety of passengers and crew remained its highest priority, explaining that suspending the flight was necessary despite the inconvenience to travellers.

“At Air Peace, the safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew will always take precedence over operational schedules,” the statement read.

“While we understand the inconvenience this situation may have caused, taking swift preventive action was the responsible and necessary decision,” it added.

According to the airline, affected passengers were promptly notified of the situation and provided with hotel accommodation alongside other support services.

The carrier further revealed that a replacement aircraft would be sent from London to operate the delayed flight.

“To minimise further disruption, a replacement aircraft from London will be dispatched and passengers are scheduled to depart this morning,” Air Peace said.

The airline also appreciated passengers for their patience and understanding during the disruption, reaffirming its commitment to safe and dependable operations.

“We deeply appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation shown by our passengers during this period. Their trust remains incredibly important to us,” the statement added.
