LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Popular Nigerian content creator Shank Comics shared a personal story about a heated disagreement with his mother after he tattooed her name on his arm, alongside unveiling a bold new body ink with the words “Lit Gang.”
In a video circulating online, Shank recalled the moment he tattooed his mother’s name, “Oluremi,” on his arm.
What he thought would be a touching gesture, took an unexpected turn. He revealed his mother, based on her religious beliefs cried and barraged him with biblical verses on the negativity of tattoos.
“The day I tattooed my mum’s name on my arm, she started crying and quoting Bible,” Shank said.

His added that his mother strongly disapproved, warning him against repeating such actions.
“She told me, ‘did I ask you to draw my name? I don’t like it. Don’t do tattoo again. God said don’t mark your body,’” he recalled.
Maintaining his stance, Shank stated that he questioned her belief, pointing out what he saw as an inconsistency in her argument.
“I asked her, if you say I should leave my body the way God created it, why do you shave your hair? You that shave hair and me that draw tattoo, we are committing the same sin,” he added.

The content creator also used the moment to give advice to young people facing similar situations with their parents.
He emphasized the importance of financial and personal independence before making decisions that may go against family expectations.
“Just make sure you’re independent before doing what your parents are not comfortable with,” Shank advised.
Meanwhile, he used the opportunity to reveal a new tattoo on his back with the words “Lit Gang,” further fueling witty reactions from fans online.
Many urged him to keep it hidden and save his mother the stress of praying for his soul, while others complimented the artistry of his new body ink.
