ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released its timetable for the 2026 primary elections, announcing that its presidential nomination form will cost N100 million as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
The schedule was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the partyās National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, outlining key activities including nomination, screening, appeals, and primaries across all elective positions.
According to the timetable, the sale of nomination forms will run from May 5 to May 10, 2026, while submission of completed forms is fixed for May 11 to May 13, 2026.
āScreening of aspirants will take place from May 14 to May 15, 2026, followed by the publication of screening results on May 17, 2026,ā the statement said.
The party added that appeals would be entertained between May 18 and May 19, while the final list of cleared aspirants will be published on May 20, 2026.
Primary elections are scheduled to commence on May 21, 2026, beginning with State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate contests, all to be conducted simultaneously at the ward level.
It further stated that governorship primaries will hold on May 22, while the presidential primary has been fixed for May 25, 2026.

The process will be concluded with a National Executive Committee meeting on May 26 and a Special National Convention on May 27, where final ratifications are expected.
The party also unveiled a structured fee regime for aspirants seeking various offices.
According to the ADC, the presidential nomination form is pegged at N100 million, governorship at N50 million, Senate at N20 million, House of Representatives at N10 million, and State House of Assembly at N3 million.
With this, the ADC becomes the second major party to fix its presidential and governorship forms at N100 million and N50 million respectively, following the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
To encourage broader participation, the party announced concessions for certain categories of aspirants.
It said youths would receive a 50 per cent discount, while women and persons with disabilities would enjoy a 25 per cent reduction in nomination fees.
The ADC urged members, stakeholders, and aspirants to strictly adhere to the approved timetable and guidelines.
The announcement comes amid ongoing internal challenges within the party, including a protracted leadership crisis.
A recent court ruling reinstated former Senate President David Markās faction, but the party continues to grapple with divisions, factional expulsions, and legal disputes over congresses and conventions.
These developments have heightened tensions within the party, with some opposition figures reportedly considering their positions ahead of the 2027 elections.
