LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Delta State Police Command has addressed growing concerns over the whereabouts of the body of late singer Mene Ogidi, aka OG Milan, following viral claims on social media that suggested his body was missing.

The 28-year-old rising artist was reportedly shot dead on April 26, 2026, by a police officer attached to the Effurun-Uvwie command.

The incident quickly gained public attention after the disturbing video of him being handcuffed and shot at close range surfaced online, triggering outrage and calls for accountability.

Soon after, authorities confirmed the arrest of the officer involved, identified as Nuhu Usman.

The development came after the footage, shared widely by activist Harrison Gwamnishu, circulated across social platforms.

In the days that followed, several public figures, including Omoyele Sowore, Yvonne Jegede, I Go Save, Falz, Cubana Chief Priest, and Kanayo O. Kanayo, spoke out against the killing, increasing pressure on authorities.

However, the situation took another turn on Friday, May 1, when activist Rinu Oduala alleged online that the police could not locate the singer’s body.

The claim raised fresh questions about transparency and intensified public concern.

In response, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer Bright Edafe, dismissed the allegation via X social, explaining that the remains were never missing.

Edafe reported that OG Milan’s body has been kept in a mortuary, and the family duly informed.

He further stated that the deceased family is allowed to view the body at any time. However, due to the nature of the case, an autopsy is required before any further steps can be taken.

“His body is at the mortuary and the family have been told that whenever they want to see it, they will be allowed to. However it’s a case of suspected murder, so autopsy is compulsory and the family also agreed to this. Thank you. It’s called suspected murder. That’s what the law says. A suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction. The evidence is clear, so justice is guaranteed,” the police PRO said.
