LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian music star Mr Eazi opens up about a failed business venture that strained family ties, revealing how a £40,000 loan from his uncle turned into a painful life lesson.
During a recent interview, the Afrobeats star explained how he once borrowed £40,000 from his uncle to start a business.
Unfortunately, the venture did not succeed, leaving him unable to repay the money at the time.
However, things became more complicated when his uncle began asking for the money back and involved his parents in the situation.
“I remember one time I took money from my uncle to do business; business went south. And then he was chasing me for the money… I was so embarrassed that my dad had to pay,” he said.

The move made the experience even more uncomfortable for the singer.
Mr Eazi admitted he was upset about how the issue was handled, especially the decision to bring his parents into the matter.
The “Skin Tight” hitmaker said it added to his embarrassment and frustration. The situation eventually led to a confrontation, where the singer openly expressed his anger to his uncle and his wife.
“I told two of them that you people just f***ed up. You just lost an opportunity because I’m going to be a great guy and you’re not gonna be able to work with me,” Mr Eazi stated.
Despite the difficult experience, Mr Eazi noted that the incident played a key role in shaping his outlook on business and personal responsibility. The lesson, he suggested, influenced how he now approaches money, success, and relationships in his career.
