LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actress Doris Ogala missed her arraignment at a Lagos court, triggering fresh tension in a case tied to allegations against the founder of Grace Nation Bible Ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor.
The planned arraignment at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, did not go ahead after she failed to appear in court on Thursday.
Ogala is facing four charges, including alleged cyberbullying, harassment, attempted extortion, and spreading false information aimed at Pastor Chris Okafor.
The case was taken to court after she made claims accusing the cleric of criminal acts and threatening to release damaging materials about him.
During the court session, prosecuting lawyer Tolulope Mokuola asked the judge to issue a bench warrant to force the actress to appear.
He argued that Ogala ignored the hearing notice despite being properly served.

In defense, her lawyer, Temiloluwa Akindayini, countered against the request. He told the court that the actress recently had surgery on Tuesday and is currently recovering in Abia State.
He also explained that an affidavit detailing her medical condition had already been submitted to the court on April 22, 2026.
The prosecution questioned the defence’s actions, pointing out that the affidavit was not shared with them. They also raised concerns that no prior notice was given about the surgery.
After listening to both sides, Justice Akintayo Aluko rejected the request for a bench warrant.
He ordered that the actress must attend the next hearing scheduled for June 9, maintaining that strict conditions must be met before then.
“The defendant must present a verifiable medical report from a government hospital and ensure that the same is served on the prosecution before the next adjourned date. Also, the defendant must be present in court for arraignment,” Justice Aluko ordered.
The case now shifts to the next court date as fans anticipate the end of the legal drama between the actress and the cleric.
