LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- A live performance in Perth, Australia, took an unexpected turn when Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, slipped and fell while entertaining fans.
The singer was performing “Forever,” a classic hit from the now-defunct duo P-Square, when the incident happened on stage.
The moment, captured on video, quickly spread online and drew mixed reactions with fans linking the moment to everything from stage management to his split from twin brother, Peter Okoye, aka Mr P.
While some viewers brushed it off as a simple accident, others began to analyze what might have gone wrong.
First, several critics pointed to his choice of outfit. Some argued that wearing dark sunglasses at night may have affected his visibility on stage.
One user, @lechieff, joked, “Dark shades at night… Chances of missing your step increased by 1000%.”

Others shifted attention to his long-standing split from his twin brother, Peter Okoye. The brothers, once inseparable as P-Square, parted ways over disagreements involving finances, royalties, and business structure tied to their music catalog.
That history quickly became part of the online conversation. “If they were two, he wouldn’t have fallen,” @gotflavoursng wrote, suggesting the absence of his brother may have played a role.
Another user, @baybiee1, added humor saying, “His twin brother would have laughed hard, though it might happen to anyone.”
In addition, @top629039 questioned his solo appearance adding, “Every single person in that crowd knows only Psquare, not any Mr P or Rudeboy.”
Still, a few reactions were more sympathetic. Some fans suggested the fall could simply be due to time away from regular stage performances, while others treated it as a normal mishap that even seasoned performers face.
