LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian music sensation Ololade Ahmed, popularly known as Asake, has revealed the powerful role Lagos played in his life and career, describing the city as a major force behind his personal growth and musical journey.
The Mr Money crooner explained that moving to Lagos after graduating from Obafemi Awolowo University in Osun State, marked a turning point in his life.
In a recent interview on Spotify Frequency, Asake reflected on how deeply Lagos influenced his creativity, helped shape his character and pushed him towards maturity.
“Lagos taught me how to live like a man. Lagos inspired most of my songs,” he said.

The “Sungba” hitmaker also spoke about his rising global recognition. He acknowledged that while many talented musicians who bettered him remain unheard, he feels fortunate that his music reaches audiences around the world.
He also expressed gratitude to God, not just for the talent, but for the grace to put his creativity to work and still be accepted by fans who do not understand the Yoruba language.
“I’m happy because there are a lot of people who make music out there and a lot of people who are more talented than me. I’m thankful to God that I’m able to use the talent He gave me -not only locally but also globally. So for that, I give all thanks to God,” he added.
