LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- After years of tension and public clashes, Nigerian music stars Tiwa Savage and Seyi Shay have finally reconciled, sealing peace with a heartfelt moment that has taken fans by surprise.
The public reconciliation where they shared hugs comes months after Seyi Shay publicly stated in an interview that she was open to making peace after a five-year feud.
Their conflict, which became widely known in 2021, had been building for years. It was fueled by subtle industry rivalry, accusations of throwing shade, and a “painful” diss track linked to the 2019 Kizz Daniel #FvckYouChallenge.
There were also claims that Tiwa tried to block opportunities for other female artists, allegations she strongly denied.

Adding to the tension were reports of a “painful secret affair” involving a former personal assistant.
The situation reached its peak during a viral confrontation at a Lagos salon in 2021. In the video, Tiwa challenged Seyi for greeting her despite their unresolved issues. She made it clear she was not interested in what she described as “fake love.”
Tiwa later shared that she felt deeply hurt by Seyi’s contribution to the #FvckYouChallenge, which she believed was a direct and unnecessary attack.
At the time, Seyi Shay, alongside fellow artist Victoria Kimani, had accused Tiwa of trying to dominate the industry by sidelining other female performers.

In 2025, Seyi added a personal layer to the story, revealing that her former assistant allegedly had an affair with Tiwa’s ex-husband, which she said worsened the situation.
Now, the narrative has changed. A trending video that surfaced on Thursday shows the two artists embracing warmly, sparking reactions online.
The moment took place at the grand finale of the ‘Berklee in Nigeria Class of 2026 Graduation Concert’ in Lagos, a music program funded by Tiwa Savage through her foundation.
At the event, fans witnessed what many thought would never happen, an end to their long-standing beef.
Fans and industry colleagues have praised the artists for burying the hatchet, while suggesting they collaborate on new music which they say will be a “banger.”
