LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Reality TV personality and streamer Phyna has expressed her frustrations with gender expectations, explaining why she sometimes wishes she were a man.
During a recent livestream, she shared her thoughts on gender roles, pointing to what she believes are stricter expectations placed on women compared to men.
Phyna explained that men often have a more straightforward path in life, mostly focused on working hard for financial stability.

However, she argued that women deal with more pressure, including constant judgment and limitations on how they are expected to live and behave in public.
The reality star highlighted how social norms can restrict women’s freedom to dream big or pursue their goals without criticism.
She suggested that these expectations create an environment where women’s choices are closely monitored, making it harder for them to fully express themselves.

Phyna noted that beyond financial struggles, women also face cultural stereotypes and unwritten rules that influence their ambitions and how they are perceived when they step outside traditional boundaries.
Speaking openly during the livestream, she said, “I lowkey wish I was a man… Life is much easier for men cause it’s certain you have to work hard to make money, but for women, we’ve been stigmatized and there are so many rules & regulations covering us, like a woman is not supposed to dream big…”
Her remarks have since sparked conversations online, with many people weighing in on the realities of gender expectations in modern society, while others debate whether her views reflect collective experiences or personal perspective.
